Hazel Lee Bledsole Locklear, age 83, was born on Sunday July 28, 1940, and departed this life on Tuesday October 10, 2023. Ms. Hazel was the oldest of eleven siblings.
She was preceded in death by her father William James Bledsole and her mother Martha G. Brooks Bledsole; two brothers: Buck Bledsole and Rudolph Bledsole and a sister Linda Faye Bledsole Cummings.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son Tony Willard {Rose} Lamb of Summersville, SC.; Three daughters: Pearlean Goodwin of Shannon, NC., Nancy Carol Jones of Rowland, NC and Charlene {Chuck} Oxendine of Pembroke, NC. Seven grandsons Jamie Ray {Vicki} Locklear, Keith Locklear, Ron Matthew Jones, Bradley Willard {Courtney} Lamb, Justin Daniel {Loren} Brigman, Chuck Austin {Amy} Oxendine Jr. and Thomas Paul Lamb. Four granddaughters: Lakeisha Rena {Donald} Ransom, Megan Danielle {Mel} Newsom, Kayla Godwin {Aaron} and Brooklyn Hazlee Oxendine {Nick}; nine great grandsons, eight great granddaughters; two great-great grandsons and two great-great granddaughters. Four sisters: Mary Gomez, Catherine Jacobs, Barbara Locklear, Martha Ellen {James} Goins, Three brothers: William Edison Bledsole, James Roger Bledsole and Mitchell {Patsy} Bledsole and a host of family and friends.
Ms. Hazel worked at CONVERSE (shoe textile industry) for a little over 33 years. She loved flowers and always had a beautiful array planted in her yard. She has been described as a good neighbor and a good, good friend by many.
Ms. Hazel will forever be loved and greatly missed. In her final years, months and days she was cared for not only by her children but here granddaughters: Lakeisha Ransom, Brooklyn Hazlee Oxendine and her great granddaughters Rondilyn LaMaya Hunt and Rayah "Karolyne" Ransom.
