GEORGE J. SASSAMAN
CATAWISSA - George Jeremiah Sassaman, 71, of Catawissa RD2 died Saturday at 2:05 p.m. in Bloomsburg Hospital. Born at Catawissa RD1 on Nov. 28, 1904. he was a son of the late Isaiah and Ida Karnes Sassaman.

A member of Catawissa VFW, he enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1930 and was discharged shortly before the outbreak of World War II.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Shiffka and Mrs. Margaret Madaj, both of Nanticoke; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs.
Russell Nuss of Catawissa RD1; and two brothers, Luther of Ashely, and Harry of Catawissa.

The funeral will be conducted Tuesday in Catawissa.

Services for George Sassaman, Catawissa R.D. 2, were held Tuesday from the Wulfert Funeral Home, Catawissa, with the Rev. Vince Dimmick, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Catawissa, officiating. Burial followed in Hillside Cemetery.
