Evan L. Cummings, 92, of Fargo, ND, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, in Sanford Hospice House, Fargo.

Evan LeRoy Cummings was born January 17, 1931, in Detroit Lakes, MN the son of Floyd and Luella (Gilchrist) Cummings.

He attended and graduated Central High School in Fargo before serving in the U. S. Army in the Military Police in Korea.

Evan returned to Fargo and was united in marriage to Delores Meland. They made their home in Fargo, and he worked for North Dakota State University as a lab technician in the Barley Lab.

Evan is survived by his daughters, Deborah Conmy, Fargo, Michele (Myron) Gross, and Ellen (Tim) Ruud, both of Minneapolis, MN; grandsons, Bill (Lori) Conmy, Fargo, Austin Ruud and Taylor (Mija) Ruud, both of Minneapolis, great-granddaughters, who were us a great delight to Evan, Maddie, Abby and Izzie Conmy; and sisters-in-law, Charlotte Cummings, Fargo and Minnie Cummings, Three Hill, Alberta, Canada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Delores in 1999; brothers, Lawrence, Forrest, Kendall, Brian, Vance and Roger; and sister, Irma Ford.

A private Graveside Service will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, North Dakota.

In the summer of 2024, a Celebration of Evan's life will be held at the family lake cabin, near Frazee, MN.
