Thomas "Tom" Bural Ades, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Webster City, Iowa on July 15, 1932. He was the youngest of nine children but grew up in a house full of faith and love. He developed a love for horses and the rodeo and could always be found at the sale barn every chance he got.

He joined the Navy.

married the love of his life, Ferne Lucille Johnson on February 24, 1951. From their union, they had three sons:

After getting out of the Navy, Tom began his career with the Des Moines Independent School District as a carpenter and worked his way up to Supervisor before he retired.

He loved his country music and enjoyed dancing to a good tune, camping, fishing, watching westerns, and spending time with his sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. For those who knew Tom, he never met a stranger and always had a joke or witty comeback. He loved to pull pranks on people and had the best sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Alan; parents; and all his siblings.

There will be a visitation at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and graveside services to follow at Avon Cemetery starting at 1:30 p.m.
