Killed in Action
On Dec. 5, 1943, Lt. Albert was on the crew of the "Fighting Cock" during a mission to Bordeaux, France. The plane was badly damaged by enemy fire and crashed into the Bay of Biscay. Some crew members were able to return to France in dinghies, but seven were shot to death by a German shore patrol. Lt. Albert was also shot and died in a Field Ambulance Post.
