Betty Kim Dufer, daughter of David Alonzo Dufer, Jr. and Yong Sun (Kim) Dufer, was born April 3, 1977 in Seoul, South Korea.

Betty grew up all over the world and United States; from Korea, where she was born, to Hawaii due to her father being in the military. The family eventually came to the Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri area and Betty graduated from Waynesville High School with the Class of 1995. She furthered her education by attending a Practical Nursing Program and worked her way up from CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) to an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse).

Betty spent well over 20 years giving back to her community at several nursing facilities. She was a naturally gifted nurse and was dedicated to her position and the duty that came with it. She found few things more rewarding than being able to go to work and take care of her residents.

Betty was an adventurer in every sense of the world; be it finding beautiful sights, rivers to cool off in during the summertime, or traveling to see family. She had a natural affinity for animals, even rescuing several, and for bringing people together, whether it was friends or family. She was a guiding light for many and the glue that held the family together, especially her nieces and nephews who meant the world to her.

Betty passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 in her home having attained the age of 46. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her.
