Alice Louise Arthur Howe, age 92, of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Ohio Valley Manor, in Ripley, Ohio. She was born on September 12, 1931, in Lewis County, Kentucky, to the late Earl and Zennia Arthur. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, in Maysville. She worked at Wald's Manufacturing for 40 years and Special Touch Cleaning Service. She loved children, and her grandchildren spent much of their childhood with her. Later in life, she kept her great-grandchildren, Regan and Lauren Traxel, from the time they were born until they went to preschool. At that time, she went to Straub Elementary School with them and became a foster granny at the school.
Alice is survived by: a son, Phillip Moran; a brother, Jimmy Arthur; three sisters, Joyce (Jessie) Gibson, Linda Insley and Betty Rankin; six grandchildren, Michele (Drew) Traxel, Michael Welch, Chris (Amanda) Moran, Nathen (Mandy) Moran, Stephen (Leanne) Moran and Lori (Drew) Dowden; and nine great-grandchildren, Mikey Welch, Mark Welch, Regan Traxel, Lauren Traxel, Kinley Moran, Cristen Moran, Bryce Moran, Samuel Moran and Andrew Dowden. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: her loving husband, T.J. Howe; three children, Barbara Lewis, Roger Moran and Gary Moran; four siblings, Earl Arthur, Jr., Mabel Kegley, Howard Arthur and Debbie Arthur; and a great-granddaughter, Courtney Dawn Moran.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, in Maysville. Burial will be at Maysville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope.
