Shirley Ann Bolejack passed away on October 4, 2023, at the age of 87 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She was born in Wichita, Kansas on February 17, 1936, to Oscar and Lucy Bolejack. She was the oldest of 5 children born to Oscar and Lucy. For those that knew and loved her she was known as Shirl.


She loved growing up on the family farm in Kansas and often talked about life on the farm. At the age of 14 the family moved to Colorado after her father was diagnosed with cancer. In 1952 she married Orvile Bolejack. The couple started their lives in Golden where they raised 5 children. Shirl was a stay-at-home mother and housewife. In 1968 life changed and she found herself working a number of different jobs from housecleaning, upholstery, nurses aid, and Coors employee before landing a job she loved ~ school bus driver. After retiring from Jefferson County Schools, she purchased a processing serving business that she ran until she decided she just wanted to enjoy her garden, bird watching, reading, family, and cooking.


She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Orville Bolejack; grandchildren, Russell Chandler, Christina Taylor; great-grandchildren, Salena Aguon, Ashley Tracey Yu, and Michael Anthony Chinugyen; several nieces and nephews; three brothers, and three sisters.


Children Sherry, Jim, Valerie, and Karen; brother, Hank; sisters, Chris of Texas, and Irene; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; dog, Peaches, and many extended family members and friends.
