Gertrude is the daughter of Eddie B. Turner and E. Youthy Dean. She was married to Clifford G. Knecht. They had no children together. She was previously married to John A. Carr and had a son, Johnnie Carr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 am at Maddox-Page Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Maulding officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
A native of Randolph County, Ala., Mrs. Knecht had lived here for the past 10 years.
Survivors include one son, Johnnie Carr of LaGrange; two brothers, Eddie Turner of LaGrange and Otis Turner of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Katie Estes of LaGrange; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Mrs. Katie Estes of 805 Greenville Street.
