Based on censuses, her marriage record, & probate records, she primarily went by "Marion M." Her son, Rufus B. Thompson, lists her as Mary Marion Buell on his marriage license.
Sept. 9, 2011 - Town Clerk/Treasurer, Town of Essex, VT reviewed original handwritten birth record and felt "typed" birth card that lists 1834 as birth year is incorrect. "I would safely say it was 1831."
