Mary Ann Bowman(Mrs. Absalom), peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Leisureworld Care Centre, Elmira, Mary Ann (Martin) Bowman, in her 93rd year, formerly of St. Jacobs. Beloved wife of the late Absalom Bowman (1979). Loving mother of Jean and Gerry Bauman of New Hamburg, Robert and Margaret Bowman of Crosshill, Reta and Earl Evans of North Bay, Harold and Nancy Bowman of Durham, Erla Bowman of St. Jacobs, Ross Bowman of St. Jacobs and Mervin Frey of Kitchener. Also survived by her 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and one sister, Edna Weber. Predeceased by her parents, Isaac and Sara Martin; one daughter, Arlene Frey (2001); six sisters and seven brothers. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Wednesday, April 16 from 4-9 p.m., where a private family service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, April 17 at 1 p.m., then to Martins Mennonite Meeting House, King St. North, Waterloo for further public service approximately 1:45 p.m. and burial in the adjoining cemetery. For those who desire, donations to the Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
