Walter Howard Allen, 84 of Millington, MD passed away on September 13, 2023 at the U of M Shore Medical Center at Easton.

Mr. Allen was born on September 12, 1939 in Centreville, MD, son of the late William O. Allen and Emma Stowman Allen. He was a graduate of Centreville High School, Class of 1958. He served with the Maryland National Guards for 4 years. In 1962 he married Ann Owens and in 1968 they moved to Millington where they raised their family. Walter had worked as an automobile mechanic and for 20 years, until his retirement in 2016, as a truck driver and delivery man for Tri-Gas.

He was a private person and took great pride in the appearance of his home, flowers and vegetable garden. He also enjoyed watching cartoons and westerns.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Frank and Albert Allen and half-brother Buddy Allen.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann Owens Allen; children Jeffery H. Allen and Angela Allen (Steven Cahall) all of Price Station; 2 grandchildren, Morgan P. Blyman (Frankie) and Gunner B. Gsell; 2 great grandchildren Wade and Leah Blyman a niece Lisa and nephews Albert, Jr. and Carl.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 18 from 10 to 11 am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow in Sudlersville Cemetery.
