She was a daughter of the late Hezza Kie and Almeria Frances Cox Dowdy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George Lindley Brafford; three brothers, Hezza Kie Dowdy, Jr., Herman Dowdy, and Owen Dowdy; four sisters, Grace Mahone, Polly Harrington, Mabel Gunter, and Maylor Brown. She was survived by son, Donald Brafford (Kristine); daughter, Janice B. Brown (Ron); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Carson Dowdy (Dot).
