He was born Jan. 11, 1946 in Fort Madison, Iowa, to John and Virginia Bever Azinger. He graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1965 and went to Parsons College in Fairfield on a basketball scholarship. Pat served in the Army during the time of the Vietnam War. He later worked at Howard Johnson's, the Marriott Corporation, managed the Custer State Park Resort, then helped develop and manage the Dakotah Steak House in Rapid City S.D. prior to moving to Texas. He loved to cook and was an avid fisherman.
Pat is survived by his wife, Sandi, of Coldspring, Texas; daughter Cami Blackwelder (Steve) of Fayetteville, N.C.; daughter Meg Azinger (Tony) of Belle Fourche, S.D.; stepdaughters Sara Jeschke (Flint) and Callie Miller (Tony). Pat loved his grandkids: Evan Blackwelder, Cash, Armee, MacKenzie, Deangelo and Lucien.
Also surviving are Pat's brothers, Larry Azinger, Pompano Beach, Fla,; Mike Azinger, Fort Madison; David Azinger, Elkhart, Ind.; Steve Azinger, Houston, Texas; and Scott Azinger, Chicago, Ill. Pat also had several nieces and nephews around the country.
