Jerry Lynn Checketts
May 25, 1945 — September 24, 2023
Jerry Lynn Checketts passed away September 24, 2023.

He was born May 25, 1945 to Lynn and Afton White Checketts and grew up in East Tremonton, Utah, near the banks of the Bear River, where he learned to love fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.
After graduating from Bear River High School he married Patricia Allen on January 23, 1964.

Jerry worked as a welder/mechanic until an industrial accident led to a career change — driving truck.
He drove for over 40 years, retiring from UPS Freight in 2016.
Everyone who met or conversed with Jerry knew him as an incredible storyteller. He had a tremendous passion for history, phenomenal geographical knowledge, and a charismatic way of delivering that wealth of knowledge.
Many were the victims of his pranks and practical jokes; he loved to laugh and make others laugh.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Pat, his three sons, Scott (Stevie), Kerry (Denise), and Andrew (Will), and his daughter, Jodi. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marilyn (Larry) Anderson, Diane (Dennis) Dipo, David (Sandy) Checketts, Don (Tanna) Checketts and Gloria (Mike) Rudd; his beloved dog, Trixie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter, Deziray Cutler.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 6-8 P.M. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N 100 E, Tremonton).
