LESTER E. MEINERT

"Lester E. Meinert, 89, of Tonganoxie, Kan., died Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, in Easton, Kan. He was born March 1, 1934, in rural Easton, Kan., the son of Albert and Edith (Hansroth) Meinert.

Les served in the United States Army.

On Aug. 2, 1959, Les married Vera Meinert. She survives at the home. He is also survived by a son, Scott Meinert; a brother, Ronald Meinert; a sister, Selma Harmon, all of Leavenworth; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Charlene McCullough and Nellie Fern Meinert.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery."
