"Donnie" Charles Donald Cockrum, Sr., age 80, of Springfield, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. Donnie was born to Fred Cockrum and Margaret (Richardson) Cockrum on October 18, 1942, in Springfield, MO. He was raised in Springfield, MO and attended Central High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army. Charles was united in marriage to Marie Johnson on July 8th 1965, in Springfield Mo. Charles and Marie shared 58 years of marriage and were blessed with 10 children.

Donnie was a well-respected electrician in the Springfield area for many years. He was an accomplished man in many ways but was most proud to watch his children succeed. His hobbies included tinkering with classic cars, playing the guitar, and cb radios. He was a proud member of Passion Assembly of God church where his son is the Lead Pastor.

Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Fred Cockrum; mother, Margaret Cockrum; son, Kelly Cockrum; and four brothers, Bill, Jim, Freddie, and Gary Cockrum; and a great grandchild Raelynn Stevie Cockrum.

He is survived by his wife Marie Cockrum and nine children, His sons Scott and Kathee Cockrum, Donnie, Jr. and Stephanie Cockrum, Mark and Cassie Cockrum, Billy and Lisa Cockrum, Joshua and Jessica Cockrum. His daughters Tonya and Doug Marrow, Vicky Cockrum, Tina Browning and Josh Herrod, Penny and Ralph Ryan, thirty-three grandchildren , thirty-three great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, a sister Debbie Greek , numerous nephews, nieces , and a multitude of friends.

A visitation for Donnie will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Funeral Home, North in Springfield, Missouri. A funeral for Donnie will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. also in the funeral home with a burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens located in Springfield, Missouri.
