He was born Sept. 16 ,1930, in Mount Sterling, Ohio, the son of George A. and Ruth M. Salmon Beal. He was raised in Mount Sterling, Ohio, where he attended school. He retired in 1992 after 25 years as a baker for the Klosterman Bakery in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a member of the Bakery & Confectionery union and Local 213. He loved dancing, fishing, gardening, woodworking and his daily visits to the senior center.
He is survived by three daughters, Loretta Knaus of Vevay, and Mary Shepherd and Donna Beal, both of Florence, Ky.; two sons, Chris Beal of Verona, Ky., and Paul Beal Jr. of Carrollton, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorene Rae Nussbaum Beal, whom he married March 1, 1951, and who died Dec. 29, 2003; his parents; three brothers, George, Bud and Pat Beal; and three sisters, Patricia Hedge, Betty Hedger and Dorothy Beal.
The funeral was at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. A graveside service and burial was in Vevay Cemetery.
