Leah Dawn (Bruner) Browning, 70, of Bloomington passed away on September 23, 2023 at the McCormick's Creek Health and Rehab in Spencer. She was born August 18, 1953 in Bloomington, Indiana the daughter of Jack Henry and Mary Alice (Butcher) Bruner.
Leah was a 1971 graduate of Bloomington High School South, and a 1976 graduate of Ivy Tech College in Bloomington with her nursing degree. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse for the Bloomington Hospital for over twenty years and then she was the charge nurse for the Hospitality House in Bloomington for over twenty years before retiring. Leah was a member of Life Church for fifteen years, and then a member of City Church for over twenty years. She was an amazing, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending her time reading, studying her bible, listing to sermons and gospel music, being around her church family, she especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren, family and many friends. She will be greatly missed.
Leah is survived by her daughter Heidi (Sean) Lewis- Blevins of Bloomington; her grandchildren, Elijah David Lewis (Destiny Wright) Turpin and Jack Xavier Turpin all of Bloomington; her great grandson, Shane David Lee Turpin and great granddaughter on the way, Scarlett Michelle Turpin; her brother, Tracy Jack Bruner of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mary Bruner; her grandson, Samuel Isaac Turpin.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Life Church in Bloomington. With Rev. Michael Carter officiating. A visitation will be held Saturday September 30, 2023 from 1:00pm to service time. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service downstairs at the church until 4:00pm all are welcome to attend. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
