Troy Julious Boyett, 97, of Milam, Texas passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Shady Acres Nursing Home in Newton, Texas.

Troy was born September 2, 1926 to Nathan Edward and Ola Boyett.

He was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army. After his time in the military, he worked for many years as a bricklayer.

He enjoyed working in his garden and preserving his vegetables and figs. He also liked mowing his yard. When he had the chance, he like to go fishing and he enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren.

Troy is survived by his sons, Tommy Boyett of San Augustine, Texas, Donny Boyett and Tammy of Gravel Hill Community, James Boyett of Hemphill, Texas, Jackie Boyett of Livingston, Texas, Roy David Boyett of Huntington, Texas, Clay Boyett of Gravel Hill and Johnny Paul Boyett and Shannon of Milam, Texas, his daughters, Carolyn Brazil and Robert of San Augustine, Texas, Ann Boyett of Hemphill, Pam Perez of China, Texas and Mary Byrd and Alan, also of China and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Walton Boyett and children, Troy Michael "Micky" Boyett, Bill Boyett, Steven Boyett, Nathan Boyett and Debbie Boyett.

Graveside services will begin at 10am, Monday, September 25, 2023 in Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Brother Floyd Wright officiating.
