A. Roderick Tisdale, 61, formerly of Tacoma, died Wednesday in the Veterans Hospital at Seattle following a long illness.
Born in Tacoma, he resided at 4104 Edgewater Place in Seattle the past 17 years. He was in charge of security and plant protection for Pan American World Airways until 1956.
A Marine lieutenant during World War I, Mr. Tisdale was active in the Marine Corps Reserve and was past president of VFW Post 81 here. He was a member of the Tacoma Kiwanis club, the Elks and Pacific Northwest Security Assn.
In the 1920s he owned a wholesale and retail meat market here.
Mr. Tisdale is survived by his wife, Joy; a daughter, Mrs. J. R. Kelsall of Bellevue; and a grandson, Christopher T. Kelsall.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. toorrow at the Bonney-Watson Funeral Home in Seattle.
