James David Dye, 71, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on September 10, 2023. He was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas to William Shad and Velma Louise Dye on December 15, 1951.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ray.

James is survived by sons, Josh (Robyn), Robert and Alan (Maegan); grandchildren, Erik, Gavin, Mason, Benjamin, Beau and Erica; and one brother, Rickey (Nancy) and their sons Scott and Bill.

He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. When he was younger, he loved riding motorcycles. James served almost twenty years in the United States Navy. He retired from Arkansas Children's Hospital, after working for over twenty years.

He loved his country and his grandchildren. He loved to go to Denny's and eat and he loved history.

The family would like to thank the staff at Southern Trace Nursing Home.

Visitation will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
