Sarah G. Lyons, 84, of Clendenin went home to be with the Lord Tuesday September 12, 2023 in Port St. Lucie after a long illness, but Clendenin was always her home.
Sarah was the daughter of the late Charles O. Hawkins and Dulcie J. Thomas Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lee Lyons; sisters, Velma May Hayes, Geraldine Eisenhower, Rosalie Stanley, Glenna Madgeline White, Effie Jane Stanley and Ruth Hawkins; brothers, William L. Hawkins, Paul Estil Hawkins, Denzile O. Hawkins and Ova E. Hawkins; and granddaughter, Bethany Lyons.
She was a retired employee of Kanawha County Board of Education. Sarah was also a member of Ed's Fork Community Church.
Sarah is survived by: son, Charles Allen Lyons; daughters, Barbara Ann, Sharon Hinzman and Dena Sue White; grandchildren, Tiffany, Stephanie, Jessica, Isaac, Lindsey, Amy, Theresa and Ann; and great grandchildren, Lilly, Michael and Daniel.
The visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Friday September 22, 2023 at Ed's Fork Community Church. The funeral will immediately follow 1 PM at the church with Pastor Ronald Kennedy officiating.
