BEST: Funeral services for Alton Horace Best, 68, who passed away on March 16, 2021, will be held Friday at 10:00 AM from the graveside in Evergreen Cemetery (Gate #1). The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at the George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Mr. Best was born in Tampa, Florida and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida. He was the kind of guy that was always there when you needed him and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Brenda Wilson Best; 1 daughter, Barbara Dew; 2 sons, Jackson Dew and Robert Dew (Brandy); 2 brothers, Larry Best and Harrell Best (Penny); 4 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
