Mr & Mrs Davis were the victims
of a tragic accident while on
their way to Mt Sterling. On a
cool October 16 morning in 1894,
the couple was struck by a west bound
train at the railroad crossing about one half mile west of Mt Sterling.
The buggy was splintered,the horse
killed and Mr & Mrs Davis were thrown
onto the pilot of the steam engine
and carried some distance.
A double funeral was held
for them at the Fargo Church
