Willow resident Margaret Josephine ''Jo'' Holsonbake, 76, died July 3, 1996, in Anchorage at Providence Extended Care Facility. A graveside service was at Talkeetna Cemetery.

Mrs. Holsonbake was born Aug. 3, 1919, in Iowa to Ernest and Doris Wheatley. She came to Alaska in 1941. She and her husband are former owners of the Big Su Lodge on the Parks Highway. She was a member of the Episcopal church. She enjoyed painting, journalism and gourmet cooking.

Mrs. Holsonbake leaves her husband, Carl Holsonbake; son, Mark Occhipinti, both of the Wasilla/Sunshine area; sister, Wynona Fry of Anchorage; step-son Vaughn Holsonbake of Bowie, Md.; step-daughter, Jean Shockley of Joplin, Mo.; niece, Margaret Murphy of Anchorage; nephew, Leslie Wheatley of Fairbanks; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Arrangements for the family were made by Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
