AGE 98 YEARS

Albert H. Reale of Quincy, Massachusetts, formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida and Hanover, Massachusetts, died peacefully, on September 10, 2023, surrounded by his children. Al was the last surviving son of Salvatore and Mary Reale, Italian-born immigrants, and was born and raised with his brothers, Joe, Lou and George in New Britain, Connecticut. He enrolled at the University of Connecticut at Storrs in 1942, but left to enlist in the U.S. Navy during World War ll. He served proudly as a Quartermaster on LST 1122 in the Pacific Theatre from 1943-1946. When he returned to UConn, he met the love of his life there, Tess Petrone. After graduating, they wed in 1949 and were married for over 68 years. Together, they raised 12 children in Hanover. After retiring to Florida, Al and Tess enjoyed boating, traveling and entertaining family and friends.

Al was an honor student in high school and college, and made a career as an insurance executive, becoming a CLU in 1967 and retiring in 1987 as a Vice President with Boston Mutual Life Insurance. In recent years, he attended many events as a celebrated World War II veteran and was interviewed by the National World War II Museum.

Al is predeceased by his wife, Tess; daughter, Lynn Reale Wolbarst; and son, Joe Reale. He is remembered with love by his 10 surviving children. Al was also a dear uncle, grandpa to 21 grandchildren and great-grandpa to 12 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his children's spouses.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 27, at 10:00 AM, at St. Mary's/Our Lady of the Angels Church, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover, Massachusetts and a reception to follow. Interment with Military Honors will be at the National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, Massachusetts, on Thursday, September 28, at 11:00 AM.
