William Earl "Bill" Donath, 64, of Crosby passed away at home surrounded by his family Wednesday, March 26, 2008. William was born to Monroe Jefferson and Mary Pomykal Donath on February 12, 1944 in Pasadena, TX. Mr. Donath was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Monroe J. Donath Jr. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Angela Donath Jr. of Huffman; daughters and son-in-law, Cynthia René and Christopher Van Wave of Humble and Melanie Lynette Powell of Baytown; brother, John A. Donath of Rosebud; loving companion, Kathleen Weaver of Crosby; and six grandchildren, Shad and Morgan Van Wave, William and Brandon Donath and Megan and Macie Powell.

Mr. Donath owned and operated Donath's Garden Works in Baytown for 30 years. He was a member of the Texas Nurserymen Association. Bill never met a stranger and was very generous to those who knew him. He was a loving companion, father, grandfather and will be missed by all. Bill showed tremendous strength and courage throughout his battle with cancer. His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery. The family wishes to acknowledge a special thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice for their support and kindness. In lieu of usual remembrances, the family request donations be made to the hospice of your choice, or to M.D. Anderson Cancer Research.
