She was born on January 6, 1931, in Little Falls, NY, the daughter of Morton and Ruth Spoor Tibbitts, both who predeceased her.
She was a graduate of Little Falls High School.
On May 7, 1949, she was united in marriage to her husband Charles W. Haughton, at the Ingham Mills Baptist Church, a union that lasted 66 years, until his passing on July 21, 2015.
She was a member of the Inghams Mills Baptist Church and the Little Falls First Baptist Church. She was very active in affairs of the church, and at different times held many rolls, some of which were supervising the kitchen staff at the Little Falls First Baptist Church, serving all manners of dinners and occasions, she was a member of the choir, enjoyed being an Operation Christmas Child Organizer, and she has taken part in two mission trips to the Haiti Baptist Mission.
She also routinely opened her home to guests, sometimes without any notice as her husband Charlie loved inviting friends and future friends in. She also found time to drive the Amish families around as needed.
While working she was employed by Daniel Green, Salada Foods, and the Little Falls Boston Store.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her son Mark and his wife Barbara Haughton of Port Crane, NY; daughters Cheryl E. Seifried, of Little Falls, NY and Suzanne L. Haughton and her husband Larry Burris of Charlotte, NC; Five grandchildren, Tricia Arbuthnot and her husband Thomas, Nathaniel Seifried and his wife Ashley, Mary Farrands, Matthew Haughton and his wife Ashley, and Keith and his wife Kayla Haughton; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Interment will take place at Rural Park Cemetery, Ingham Mills, NY.
