Ted was a veteran of the US Army, serving his country with honor and distinction. After his honorable discharge from his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a Plumbing Contractor, demonstrating his handy and creative skills. His dedication to his craft was evident in every project he undertook, and his reputation for quality was well-known by friends and family.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ted was an active member of the Greendale Lions Club, where he was awarded the prestigious Melvin Jones fellowship for his selfless service.
Ted's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his loving wife and his devoted sons. He was predeceased by his son, Patrick Fennig. Ted was a proud grandfather. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Ted's interests were as varied as they were engaging. He loved puttering around the house, always finding a new project to tackle or an old one to improve. He had a keen mind for jigsaw and crossword puzzles, often spending hours lost in the challenge they presented. Ted also enjoyed card games with friends and family, his competitive spirit shining through in every hand. He also enjoyed fishing for many years with family and especially his grandsons.
In remembering Ted, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to guide those he left behind.
The family extends a big thank you to St. Lukes Hospital and Zilber Family Hospice for their wonderful, compassionate care.
The funeral will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at St. Alphonsus Parish (6060 W. Loomis Rd, Greendale). Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at 12:00 noon.
