Robert Lee "Bob" Chastain, 76, of Bainbridge, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Born Nov. 26, 1946 in Salem, he was the son of Hobart and Harriet (Branaman) Chastain. He was a graduate of Medora High School.

Bob was a timber cutter and log truck driver, working for Pingleton Sawmill for several years. He also served in the Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Carrie Sue Bray and brother Jerry Chastain.

Bob is survived by wife Louisa (Lewis) Chastain, son Bobby Chastain, daughters Melissa Chastain and Carla Rosselot, brother John Chastain, sister Eleanor (Kenny) Hauser, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at the Bainbridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. on Saturday until time of service at the funeral home.
