After applying and receiving authorized consent to marry from his father, J. M. Stanley, Frank Marion Stanley [1890—1935] was married to Ethel Pearl (Cox) Stanley [1891—1977] on 09 October 1909, at her home in Ashland, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. Frank and Ethel’s union produced four children: Iva Jewel (Stanley) Stacy [1910—1979], Marion Earl “Bud” Stanley [1919—1998], Claudie Lee “Rack” Stanley [1924—1984], and Jimmy Loyd “Jim” Stanley [1931—2015]. Frank Stanley worked variously as a railroad tie worker, drayman, mine driller, zinc miner—rock driller, and truck driver. As early as age 14, Frank lived in the home of his future wife, and found his life’s work centered in working in the mines in northeastern Ottowa County, Oklahoma. He suffered a stroke at the age of 45 leaving his wife a widow, and was interred at Greenlawn Cemetery, 15 miles south of Columbus, Cherokee County, Kansas.
