A graveside service for Robert Lee Ayres, 77, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Heard's Prairie Cemetery, in Robertson County, Texas. The Rev. Walter Albers of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waco will officiate.

Mr. Ayres passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008, in Nacogdoches. He was born in Kaufman County, Dec. 16, 1930, to James A. and Willie(Della Jones) Ayres. He was a graduate of Texas A & M college and also served in the Air Force. He was a banker and was very active in many civic organizations in his younger years.

He is survived by three daughters and son-in-laws; Melinda and Clint McGinnis of Gilmer; Beverly and Dr. Randy Albers of La Grange; and Ginger and Carl Franks of Woden; six granddaughters, Misty McGinnis of Raleigh, NC; Lacey McGinnis of College Station, Elizabeth Albers of Austin, Erin Lee Albers of College Station, Whitney Ayres Waters of Tyler, and Jamie Franks of Nacogdoches; one grandson, Randy Franks of Nacogdoches; one brother, James William Ayres of Terrell; sisters-in-law, Carol Ayres of Las Vegas, and Patricia Fuller of Anahuac; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann and Joe Bailey of Bremond.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Grace Ayres in 2004.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2008 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home.
