Ellen Charlotte Busse, daughter of the late George & Nellie Ellen Richard, was born Nov. 7, 1906 at St. Louis, Mo., and departed this life at the Cedar Crest Manor Nursing Home in Washington, Mo., on Nov. 9, 1978, having reached the age of 72 years and 2 days.
Nellie, as she was known to her family and friends, was a long time resident of Anaconda Community. At an early age she was united in marriage to Dorsey Oliver Bradshaw, later marrying the late Henry Busse on Nov. 19, 1941.
Surviving her are six daughters: Doris Bradshaw Potter and husband Clint, Granite City, Il., Norma Jean Bradshaw Rush and husband Vernon, Valley Park, Mo., Ellen Busse Holden and husband Manuel, Solo, Mo., Henrietta Busse Hoke and husband Frank, Sullivan Mo., Kathy Busse Jenkins and husband Larry, Shirley Busse Steinbach and husband Leslie, all of Bourbon, Mo. Four sons: Charles Bradshaw and wife Doris, Rantoul, Il., Douglas Bradshaw and wife Norma, Valley Park, Mo., Henry Busse, Jr. and wife Betty, Sullivan, Mo., and Melvin Busse of the family home in St. Clair, Mo. A sister: Mary Enke, Lenox, Mo., a brother: George Richard, Reed Springs, Mo., 29 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a son Johnny Bradshaw (1926-1927) in infancy, and a stillborn son in 1948, 2 brothers Charles Richard, Sr., and Stephen Richard.
A kind and loving mother, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her loved ones and friends.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 Saturday, Nov. 11, 1978, from Hassebroek's Memorial Chapel in Sullivan, Mo., with Elder Mike Burton and Rev. Wm. Norris officiating. Interment was in Anaconda Cemetery.
