Youngest of three daughters of Johnny and Winnie Stacy Walker, Heddy was born in Fayette County, Indiana on February 7, 1946 and graduated from Columbus High School , Columbus, Indiana with the class of 1965.
In June of 1968 Heddy first married David Charles Landon and together they had a daughter named Lori Ann, only to divorce soon after.
On May 18, 1970, Heddy married Lonnie Dixon in Connersville. Mr. Dixon survives.
Heddy was employed in the Deli at Marsh Supermarket for many years until her retirement.
She attended First Baptist Church, and, in her leisure, time enjoyed going out to eat, vacationing in Myrtle Beach, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband of 52 years, Lonnie Dixon, survivors include one daughter, Stacy (Chris) Russell of Noblesville, Indiana and a step-daughter, Lori Shaw of Seymour, Indiana; three grandchildren, Garret and Collin Russell, and Tori Shaw; two sisters, Margot (Myrl) Anderson and JoAnne Long, all of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Heddy was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Bill Shaw; and a brother-in-law, Jerry G. Long.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Lick Creek Cemetery. Pastor Stan Howard will officiate. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
