Gary E. Vickers. Sr., age 68, of Hamden, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born November 10, 1954 in New Jersey, son of the late Wallace E. Vickers and Gloria Virginia Wine Vickers. Gary was a retired truck driver and former employee of Caudill Chipping. He was a hard worker all of his life and was always finding something to get into. He is survived by his children, Jessica Vickers, Gary Vickers, Jr., Glen Vickers, Janette Stewart, and Amy Arms; grandchildren, Tyler Stewart, Kathryn Stewart, and Brandon Vickers; sisters, Carol Sue Vickers, Sandy Vickers, and Chrissy Cornell; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Vickers in 2004; and brothers, Rick, Eddie, and Harry. Cremation followed Gary's passing. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 16th, at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
