Doris A. Abke, age 79, of Pemberville, OH passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Otterbein Portage Valley Retirement Village, Pemberville, OH. On July 20, 1928 she was born to Martin and Anna (Melcher) Schwisow in Latcha, OH. Doris married Earl Abke on December 1, 1956 in Pemberville, OH and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2001. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being a farmer's wife. Doris was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville, OH, Priscilla Circle, and Mid Morning Belles Homemakers. Survivors include son: Russell (Marcy) Abke of Pemberville, OH; daughters: Darla (Dave) Boyk of Pemberville, OH; Kathy Abke of Wayne, OH; grandchildren: Sydnie, Logan, Abigail Abke, Joe and Megan Boyk.; brother: Willard (Faye) Schwisow of Maumee, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Earl Abke; sister: Eleanor Metzger. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 2-5 and 7-9 PM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH. Funeral services will be on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 2:00 PM from Bethlehem Lutheran Church where there will be additional visitation from 1:00 PM until time of service. Officiating will be Rev. David Wietelmann. Interment will be in Pemberville Cemetery, Pemberville, OH. There will be a bereavement luncheon held at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church immediately following the committal services at the cemetery. Those giving a memorial contribution may wish to consider Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Otterbein Portage Valley Retirement Village.
