She was a long time business owner in the community. She enjoyed gardening flowers, fishing, quilting and cooking.
She was of the protestant faith.
Survivors include a son, Hubert Vest of Peace Valley, MO; four daughters, Ella Sheeler and husband, Larry, of Tenant, IA; Allie Caldwell and husband, D.B., of Koshkonong, MO; Geraldine Ford and husband, Bill of Koshkonong, MO; and Gail Stanley of Omaha, NE; a stepson Leroy Vest and wife, Joyce, of Mountain View, MO; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and three sisters, Alma Nance of Poplar Bluff, MO; Imogene Blackwell of St. Ann, MO; and Edna Harding of Birch Tree, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, James David Vest and Jessie Vest; a step-daughter, Gladys Hollis; four brothers, three sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Vest.
The funeral was April 16 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Kelby Hutsler officiating. Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer, MO.
