When Reuben Bules "Rubin" Bailey was born on December 24, 1877, in Leslie, Kentucky, his father, James Bailey Jr., was 30 and his mother, Eliza "Lizzie" Baker Bailey, was 23. He had four sons and nine daughters with Isabelle "Belle" Shepherd Bailey between 1903 and 1926. He died on March 11, 1947, in Wooton, Kentucky, at the age of 69, and was buried in Wooton, Kentucky at Bailey (Bailey Branch Road/Wooton Creek) Cemetery.

Brothers Rubin, Hampton and Wilson Bailey married Maggie's sisters Isabelle, Maggie and Leanna Shepherd, daughter of daughters of John Shepherd and Elizabeth Coots.

Sister Sarah Bailey married Hence Shepherd, son of Clem and Ruth Shepherd.

Cousin William Henderson Bailey married Nancy Shepherd, daughter of Clem Shepherd and Ruth Musslewhite.

Bailey (Branch) Cemetery is located at the end of Bailey's Branch Road in Wooton, Kentucky directly behind two RV/campers slightly uphill. On the right side is a path is stairs and on the left side is additional headstones where Rubin is located.
