Shirley D. Adams nee; Semchson
Beloved wife of Michael Adams; Devoted mother of Michaela (John) Wirtz, Mary (Rob) Frusolone and Margaret (Eric) Webb; Loving daughter of the late Nicholas and Jessie Semchson; Adored grandmother of Anthony Frusolone, Katelyn (Jeff) Pagano, Jackson Tibbs, Daniel Frusolone, Sophia Wirtz and Dominic Frusolone; Dear sister of the Betty Pedrazoli; Dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Shirley and Mike were married June 1963. In 1968 they moved from Chicago to Arlington Heights to raise their family. As their daughters were growing up, the family took many driving vacations to see as many of the United States as they could. Before Mike's retirement from the Skokie Fire Department, Shirley and Mike took many international cruises, many trips to Canada to visit her family as well as a trip to Germany to visit Mike's family. In 1988 they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary taking an Alaskan cruise. Alaska was the 45th state they had visited. In 1994, Shirley and Mike moved to Dexter, MN where they built and ran the Ice Haus Bed & Breakfast for 18 years. In 2012, they took a trip out west to visit four more states, leaving just one left to visit. On that trip they visited Sun City, AZ and bought a house becoming "snow birds". In 2013, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a cruise to Hawaii, completing their quest to see all 50 states. In 2018 they moved to Sun City, AZ full-time.
On June 22, 2023 Shirley and Mike celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Over those 60 years they raised three daughters and were blessed with six grandchildren. Shirley loved to travel, host parties, shop, take pictures with her disposable cameras, spend time with her family but most of all she loved to brag to any one who would listen about how proud she was of her grandchildren.
When they built the Ice Haus Bed & Breakfast, Shirley and Mike hung a custom sign in their kitchen that read: "No One Leaves Hungry or Thirsty". The family asks in lieu of flowers, please make donations in the memory of Shirley Adams to either the Arizona Food Bank Network at www.azfoodbanks.org or Northern Illinois Food Bank at www.solvehungertoday.org to continue Shirley and Mike's passion to provide food to others in need.

A celebration of life will be held for Shirley later this fall in Sun City, AZ.
