James "Larry" Rulon

James Larry Rulon, age 88 of Hamilton, Ohio passed away Saturday August 26, 2023 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Mechanicsburg, Ohio on February 24, 1935 the son of Harry and Jennie (Dickerson) Rulon.
Survivors include three children, Jeffrey (Theresa) Rulon, J. Gregory Rulon and Sondra (Bill) Caldwell; grandchildren Christine (Tony) Flaig, Nicholas Laboffe, Christina Rulon, Alex Rulon, Samantha (Ryan) Baker, Katie (Will) Pollock, Joseph (Kimberly) Caldwell and Amanda (Mikael) Schulte; and 14 great grandchildren.
Larry was an amazing and devoted family man. He was an adoring husband of over 66 years to his wife, Caroline. Larry was also a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who loved attending all of their school activities, sports activities, and life events. For several years, he was the manager of his sons' North End Little League team. In addition to his love of sports, Larry had a passion for fishing, traveling, and participating in a fantasy football league. Larry was not only proud of his years of hard work at Armco and AK Steel, but also, being of service to his country in the Army with 2 years of active duty and 6 years in the Army Reserves. The loving and caring impact he had on his family, friends and anyone who came to know him will always and forever be remembered.
Visitation will be held at the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., Hamilton on Thursday August 31, 2023 from 11 AM until time of funeral service at 12Noon. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Cincinnati or Grace United Methodist Church.
