Sharon was married to Joe Atchison for almost 60 years, before his passing in November 2020. She was also Office Manager for Atchison Farms for many years. She also served as Treasurer for Free Zion Baptist Church for 15 years. Sharon enjoyed reading, doing cross-stitch, shopping, and dining out with her daughters and sisters. She also enjoyed the many friendships she developed while attending Free Zion with her husband.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon was preceded in death by her brother: Bob Bennett, and her sisters: Jean Gottman, Mary Ann Weber, and Kathy Cook as well as her great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Stella Gunn.
Sharon is survived by her daughters: Sherri (Dee) Bell of Chrisney, Indiana, Donna (Bill) Barclay and Rita (Todd) Daming of Richland, Indiana, Carrie Atchison (Keith Taylor) of Lexington, Kentucky, and Bonus daughter: Ashton (Justin) Daugherty of Owensboro, Kentucky. Also surviving Sharon are her beloved grandchildren: Trisha (Dana) Dancer, Sean Chalk, BJ Gunn, David Gunn, Amanda (Jody) Benson, Jake Barclay, Keith Barclay, Tyler Daming (Allison Hayse), Kyle Atchison, Nick (Amanda) Claise, Christeen (Dakota) Campbell, Lexi Tucker, Gabe Bickett, and Reid Bickett; her great grandchildren, Courtney Dancer, Abby Curtis, Alana Dancer, Sophia Dancer, Gigi Dancer, Alyssa Chalk, Ares Chalk, Ryan Gunn, Thomas Gunn, Sabella Gunn, Georgie Jo Gunn, Aleck Gunn, Andrew Gunn, Kali Jo Gunn, Jordan Hughes, McKenzie Benson, Benjamin Benson, Zeke Benson, Holden Campbell, Truett Claise, and great-great granddaughters, Charlotte Fields and Lucy Gunn, brother: Bill (Mary) Bennett of Evansville, Indiana, and sisters: Jane (Sam) Lynam of Chrisney, Indiana and Karlene Kost of Grandview, IN and many extended family members.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM (CST) on Friday, September 1, 2023. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM (CST) and from 11:00 to 1:00 PM (CST) at Free Zion prior to services. Burial Hackleman Cemetery.
