Passed away Thursday evening February 20, 2003. Viola was born January 27, 1910 in New Port, Michigan, the daughter of John and Lillie (Sheets) Geren; and has been a Kalamazoo resident most of her life. Her family and her church were the most important part of Viola's life. She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church. Viola was married to Jess Richards who preceded her in death in 1963; and later was married to John DeDoes who preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by a son, Don Richards; and her siblings, Ray, Frank, Floyd, Mike, John and Irene Geren. Surviving are her children, Bob (Phyllis) Richards of Florida, Jack Richards of Kalamazoo, Louise Horner of Kalamazoo, Jess (Marilyn) Richards of California, Sandra (Tom) Zimmie of Martin, Pat Crum of Kalamazoo, Dale Richards of Vicksburg, David (Yvonne) Richards of Kalamazoo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, William Boyd of California; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the

Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Tuesday at the Calvary Bible Church (855 S. Drake Rd.) with Rev. Dr. David English officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
