Survivors include his wife, Doris Jones Baker, whom he married on September 24, 1938; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert H. & Audrey Baker III, Richard B. Baker, and David F. & Glenda Baker; sister, Ruth B. Pope; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Stuart Davides; his parents, Robert Henry & Annie Corpening Baker; daughter-in-law, Brenda Adkins Baker; brothers, Hubert Richard Baker and Albert Francis "Pete" Baker; sisters, Margarett Baker Barrett and Helen Baker Crowell.
He wa a 1933 graduate of Davidson College and was a retired chemist at CIBA-Geigy Chemical Corp. with 25 years of service.
Interment followed funeral services conducted at the First Presbyterian Church, Mooresville, NC, Saturday, December 31, 2005.
