OBITUARY: Beaver Dam Daily Citizen, Tuesday, January 30, 1973, page 12.

Mrs. Alois G. Stehling, nee Mamie Ann Wahlen, died Monday, January 29 at Family Heritage Nursing Home. Funeral services will be from the Murray Funeral Home at 9:30 and St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1. Rev. Fredrick Schmidt will officiate. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

The late Mrs. Stehling was born in Milwaukee June 20, 1882 to Mr. and Mrs. Nickolas Wahlen and on October 11, 1904 married Alois Stehling. In addition to St. Patrick's she belonged to the Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, Royal Neighbors and Eagles Auxiliary.

Survivors include 3 sons, Alois, Jr., and Joseph, Beaver Dam, and General Henry J., Alexandria, Va.; 5 daughters, Mrs. Edward (Agnes) Koch, Sheboygan, Mrs. Henry (Mary Ann) Seippel and Mrs. J. M. (Catherine) Welsch, Beaver Dam, Mrs. Louis (Janet) Clemens, West Allis and Mrs. Erwin W. (Gertrude) Zick, Appleton; 31 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on September 7, 1955; a son Edward and grandsons Jerome Welsch and Robert Seippel.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Murray Funeral Home. The Daughters of Isabella will meet at 7:30 and the rosary will be said at 8:00 p.m. Memorials will be accepted.
