Black Mountain - Stanley Isaac Stroud, 78, of the Broad River community entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital Campus.

A native of the Broad River community, he was the husband of 52 1/2 years to Mary Roland Stroud and was the son the late John Wesley and Hettie Bell Nesbitt Stroud. He was preceded in death by a son; Robert Michael Stroud; two sisters and three brothers. A retired truck driver, driving for McLean Trucking for 20 years, he was a man that was always there to help. He loved his community and was a very avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was the light of his life, and will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter; Joyce Robbins, of Hickory; son; Wayne Stroud, of Travelers Rest, SC; grandchildren Crystal Hyatt, Angel Crump, Jeremey Robbins and Michael Stroud; great grandchildren; Chase Hyatt and Christian Hyatt.

Burial will follow in the Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery.
