POWELL, Barry Wilson, of Urbanna, Va., passed away June 30, 2013. Barry was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard and retired from a career as chief pilot for Southern States. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Wilson Powell, D.D.S. and Jean McClung Powell of Waynesboro, Va. He is survived by JoAnn Walton; her daughters, Heather Phillips Masri and Heidi Phillips Burns and their sons, Riley Burns, Jake Burns, Dylan Masri and Owen Masri. A service celebrating Barry's life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Barry loved to sail and, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Barry's name to the Rappahannock Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program in Irvington, Va.
