SEAY, SHIRLEY GAFFORD, 75, of Trussville passed away on September 7, 2010. She was a member of Crosspoint Church. She was completely surrounded by family as she peacefully slipped into the arms of our loving God to enjoy a renewed and painless life. Shirley retired from Medical Center East Hospital after more than 25 years of service. For most of that time she served as the Director of the Foundation and participated in raising funds for hospital enhancements. As a long time member of the Eastern Committee of Fifty she fostered many relationships and benefited the community in numerous ways. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evan Charles Gafford and Eula Belle Gafford and brother, Ricky Gafford. She is survived by her sister Peggy (Michael) Balliet, her son Chris (Joellen) Seay, daughters Stephanie (Robert) Holland, Deborah (Ronnie) Garrard; grandchildren Kim (John) Jett, Charlie (Michelle) Garrard, Jonathon (Jackie) Seay, Caylan (Tyler) Holland, Kristen (Micah) Schuler, Trey Holland and Daniel Seay; and great grandchildren Ashleigh, Cody, Ethan, Hailey, Cody and Carley. The service will be held at Crosspoint Church in Trussville on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Family will greet guests immediately following the service until 4:00 pm. Memorials can be sent to The CrossPointe Church benevolent fund or St. Vincent's East Foundation.
