Gene Ray Williamson, 72, of Orangeburg passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Church of God of Prophecy, 425 Log Branch Road, Bamberg. Rev. Jeanette Hightower will be officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mr. Williamson was born in Orangeburg County to the late Elijah Williamson and the late Barbara Bolin Williamson. He was a mechanic by trade. His passion was working on cars. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Guy Williamson, Quinton Williamson, EL Williamson, Hames Henry Williamson, sisters, Barbara Grant, Betty Thomas and Karen Mitchell.

Survivors include his children, Steven Williamson (Betty) of Summerville, Gina Smith of Livingston, Theresa Kappos (Antonio) of St. Matthews; five grandchildren, Ashley Williamson, Devin Williamson, Ryan Smith (Marie), Destiny Smith (Ralph), Brandon Kappos; five great-grandchildren, Jack Gaskins, Faith Smith, Grace Smith, Emmalee Smith, Nala Scott; sisters, Rev. Jeanette Hightower of Bamberg, Shirley Judy of Reeseville, Katie Sawyer of Columbia and a special nephew, Tommy Clegg.
