From "The Obituaries of Benton County Arkansas" by Barbara P. Easley.

The family of auctioneer Sid Murphy is mourning the loss of their son, Ansel, a lad about nine years of age.

While dressing for school Wednesday morning, he obtained hold of a revolver and in examination of the weapon it was discharged, taking effect in his nose, ranging thru and coming out at the back of his head, causing instant death.

It seems that Ansel was not given to them to keep for when he was three years old, he was kicked by a mule and lay unconscious a number of hours. but apparently had entirely recovered from the shock. It is still a mystery to the parents how the gun came to be loaded as Mr. Murphy had no occasion to use the gun since he retired from the Deputy Sheriff's Office more than two years ago.

He was laid to rest in Walnut hill Cemetery.
